The CKF Keanison Basset Titanium M398 is a svelte yet robust knife of precision and functional elegance, crafted in collaboration with custom knifemaker Bryan Montalvo of Keanison Knives.
Built around Keanison Knives’ signature design language and modeled after the custom Stray, the Basset maximizes cutting performance without taking over your entire pocket. It pairs a broad, ultra-practical reverse tanto-esque spey blade with a contoured, low-profile titanium frame lock handle that feels as ergonomic in the hand as it is effortless to carry. The flat ground blade is made from top-tier Bohler M398 microclean steel, hardened to a razor-sharp 62-63HRC and finished with CKF’s proprietary CKFwash alongside satin flats and a mirror polished swedge, offering industry-leading edge retention and corrosion resistance.
The handle features a dark black stonewashed titanium finish that gives it a bit of an aged look that will wear nicely over time. A smooth bearing pivot system backs the frame lock, while a titanium tip-up pocket clip (right carry) keeps the knife secure and accessible. Lightweight at just 3.32 oz, this is a superb knife with a unique style and ultimate build quality, made in Slovakia.
