A genuine piece of Spyderco history — and one with South African roots. The original Matriarch was designed in the 1990s at the request of a South African distributor who wanted the cutting performance of the Spyderco Civilian in a smaller, thicker-tipped package for general use. After being discontinued, it was revived for a single limited production run in the summer of 2010, individually serial-numbered and capped at just 600 pieces worldwide. This listing is one of that original sprint run — old stock, unused, and increasingly hard to find.
